A Woman’s World

A woman’s world
I dream of a society where women are in charge. Where the only power plays are those meant to keep oppression at bay. A society where, truly, no child is left behind.
One where every community member belongs and has a purpose, because we do.
One where there’s less paperwork and cubicles and more face to face interaction within our community. Like a big farmer’s market, but for making the world a better place to exist, to live. Like a village built, not for billionaires, but for normal people like you and me.
A place where kids get to be kids and their mothers can afford to stay home and raise them, if they want. Or they can go to work, if they want.
A place where taxes take care of the individuals paying them, a fair and just system, where you pay in and benefit from your payouts. With healthcare, retirement security, food, a place where all basic needs are met. And, where corrupt, weak men are not in control but given the opportunity to contribute to the community in good faith.
A place where racism, misogyny, and bigotry are not tolerated. A place where nature is above all, the priority to protect, as Mother Nature herself provides humanity and other beings with clean air and water— essential to maintain and continue life here on planet earth.
I dream of a place where all belong, and where outdated systems are given permission and praise to evolve, not to go backwards.
A place where— walking breaks are not begged for in the work day- they are encouraged.
A place that outlaws buildings with no windows.
Because like plants, we thrive with sunshine.
A place where you help your neighbor. Because as the tides lift so do we all, and when one’s mind is less strained, so are ours all.
A place where there are less definites and more flexibility, because the human experience is vastly unique and to put anyone in a cage, whether it be labeled or defined against their will, limits a persons abilities to grow.
We are creatures of the planet, and it is in our nature to evolve and adapt.
I dream of a world, of a society, that outlaws cages— whether of the body or mind.
And be the only woman in a boardroom full of men, I dream of a day when my shoes are as comfortable as theirs, where my pay is equal not to theirs but to all, and where basic living expenses afford me and my neighbors the privilege that is the cost of living, and that I never have to prove my worth, prove my being, prove myself to them— to the men who choose not to understand what it means to be human.
Because unlike them, we’re already rich. And no amount of wealth could accumulate to ours, that holds the deepest human value— and that is love.
